What is IRC?

IRC stands for Internet Relay Chat. To put it simply, it's just a chat primarily made for group-communication that's been around since forever. Unfortunately it is nowhere near as fancy as the old Nihongo Master chatroom, so it's just an alternative until the Nihongo Master chatroom is back up.

How do I join?

You can either use your IRC client of choice or just use a web client. You can directly join the chat through this link: https://kiwiirc.com/client/89.36.216.108:6667/NihongoMaster

Can I register my nickname?

Ofcourse, once you're on the server you need to use the following command: "/msg NICKSERV REGISTER <password> <email>", obviously you should replace <password> and <email> with your own password and email.

Really this is a poor alternative for the community chat this site used to have, but I look forward to seeing you in the chat!
